Creative Child Magazine Awards You’ve been Sentenced! Prestigious Seal of Excellence

Wilmington, Delaware -- Creative Child Magazine recently honored McNeill Designs’ original game “You’ve been Sentenced!” with the Creative Child Seal of Excellence. Creative Child Magazine is a bi-monthly publication that provides parents with the latest information on how to nurture their child's creativity. 1,000 products, including You’ve been Sentenced!, were reviewed by Creative Child Magazine’s play testers and a panel of judges including psychologists and educators. The best, most original products were awarded the esteemed Seal of Excellence.

You’ve been Sentenced! is a language game where players use word cards to build sentences, challenging their ingenuity in a hilarious, competitive environment. In addition to the Creative Child Seal of Excellence, You’ve been Sentenced was recently awarded a Dr. Toy Best Products – Spring 2007 Award, and has gained industry-wide recognition with a prestigious Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award, an iParenting Media Award, and a Spewgie award for Best Family Fun Game from Spewgilist.com. The game also won the highly competitive Schwarz Toy Auditions, held at the FAO Schwarz flagship store in New York.

“You’ve Been Sentenced!” is the next great evolution in games.” states Paul Edward Cooper, Vice President of Game Development at McNeill Designs. “Using a hand of 10 pentagon shaped cards, each with 5 unique word conjugations, players build and defend seriously bizarre and hilarious sentences. “You’ve been Sentenced!” is the perfect bridging game for gamers and non-gamers. The rules and play are simple enough for your non-gamer friends and family, yet the game play is challenging and fun enough for those of us who consider ourselves true gamers.”

Upcoming new products by McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds include additional specialty You’ve been Sentenced! Add-On Decks, each of which focus on a particular theme. Pop Culture,  Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Sports, and a variety of other decks which are all slated for a Fall 2007 release.

Also slated for beta release at Gen Con ‘07 is an online version of You’ve been Sentenced! which will contain many of the same elements that made the card version so successful. “The online version has both the look and feel of the original, with similar graphics and colors,” says Don McNeill, Chairman. “Players can easily manipulate word cards on their screen to create sentences and play is timed. But best of all, players can instantly communicate with one another through a powerful chat function. This allows the online version of You’ve been Sentenced! to retain its most important elements – interaction between players, discussion of one another’s sentences, and the all-important voting segment.”
